Mr. Mulualem Alene Belew’s vision led the company to expand into cash crops, import & export, and various manufacturing sectors like animal feed, steel and packaging. Export
Since 2006 GC, the company has been actively engaged in export trade. MSA is one of the top companies in the country when it comes to exporting pulses and oil seeds. The company’s major export items include white pea beans, black beans, light speckled kidney beans, light brown HPS (hand-picked selected), red speckled beans, and red kidney beans
Import
MSA Business Group has been actively engaged in import trade as well for about a decade or more. The major goods that the company has been importing include raw materials for our own factories like Petrochemical resins, inks, caustic soda, factory raw material(PP Rafia, steel billets, sugar), machinery, spare parts and other goods.
Packaging Solutions
The packaging solution factories are in Kombolcha town and Bahir Dar city. Packaging solution factory at kombolcha mainly focuses on the production of bags for packing local seeds, export seeds, flour, malt seeds, laminated gypsum, salt and poly sheets and shrink for bottled water. These machines are imported from Austria and India having high quality and precision and designed to produce 180,000 pieces different bags per day. The packaging solution at Bahir Dar Factory specialized in the production of Cement and gypsum bags. The machinery was imported from Europe and designed to produce 480,000 pieces of cement and gypsum with valve per day.
Animal Feed Processing
The Animal Feed Processing Factory in Bahir Dar, produces 27 varieties of feed items with a volume of 120,000 tons annually, benefiting farmers, suppliers, and the livestock and poultry sectors through strong backward and forward linkages.
Transport and Logistics Services
The transport wing of MSA Business Group is striving to become one of the top five reputable and profitable freight transport companies in Ethiopia by 2030 by engaging more than 75 trucks in freight transport sector as a primary line of business.
Steel Factory
The construction of a Steel Factory, with the capacity of producing tons of steel annually, is in the pipeline. This company, which is named AMAHATTEM, is being built at Kombolcha town, Amhara Region. It is expected to manufacture state-of-the art steel products (0.8mm - 32mm steel reinforce and wire) upon finalization. It has a capacity to produce three million tons per year.
Hospitality Services
MSA's four-star Tolip Olympia Hotel, ideally located at Addis Ababa's Meskel Square, is perfect for exploring the city. Furthermore, preparations are underway to enhance its services and facilities.
Edible Oil Processing Factory
This factory is established in Bahir Dar town with the objective of producing high quality edible oil for local, national, and international markets. The factory has backward linkages with soya bean and nigger seed suppliers and farmers. It also has forward linkages with consumers across the country and export destinations. It produces 1.4million tons crash and 60million liters per year.
